The Calm Classroom was launched in October 2021. Having originally qualified as a practitioner back in 2019, I wanted to do something with my training, and felt there was a huge need in schools, with both students and teachers. I had to wait though before I could begin my journey to work with schools, and then The Calm Classroom was born.
I am continuing on my path of a practitioner and expanding my skills to school counselling the the aim is to grow with other therapies working with some other expert practitioners.
As a former teacher, and discovering how Reiki benefitted me, I am now passionate about sharing Reiki to a range of clients, from students to teachers across primary, secondary and further educational institutes. I focus mainly on well-being in the educational sector.
I pride myself on high standards of customer care, and I aim to meet the needs of each individual client in a relaxed, informal, calm and empathetic way.
I am also registered with the Reiki Federation in the UK and hold insurance for practice.
My journey with Reiki only began in 2017, but I'd always had a curiosity about it. I reached a point in my life where I was struggling with a great variety of things, so I began to meditate, or at least attempt to, by listening to meditations on YouTube, but I simply couldn't get there. Eventually I met my reiki teacher, who not only taught me how to meditate, she taught me reiki and so the journey began.
I've worked as a teacher for many years and I found I was struggling to relax and turn my brain off. My work with reiki is two fold; firstly, to send distance healing to all who need it and secondly, to support people in Education; whether it be a child struggling to focus or a teacher trying to find time for their well-being and love teaching again.
I am a qualified Reiki Therapist with Level 2 Attunement registered with the Reiki Federation and hold a DBS Certificate.
I'm also a trainee counsellor, working specifically with children, young adults and teachers. Working with CBT therapies, talking therapies and mindfulness.
